I've been crocheting since...well...I don't know when. My mom and my abuelita taught me when I was little. They tried to teach me to sew too, but that didn't stick. I love to crochet and to share my passion with everyone. Did you know that crochet is the only fiber art that there is no machine that can make it? So any time you see something crocheted and it has a tag saying "handmade"...well duh that's the only way it can be done. So as crocheters we are preserving an art form. I have used my crochet skills to warm up veterans and comfort kids. And I love fun, you will not find a stuffy, know it all, well you get the picture. I don't take my self too seriously, we have one life, lets live it.
On this site you'll find my calendar. This is where I'll be headed. I'll give a review of the event, who I met and the crochet. In the gallery you'll find my designs. I do monthly designs and any of the custom pieces I make. I only do custom pieces. There's also a link to my Etsy shop.
I love to show off talented people that are involved with crochet in so many ways. That's what you're going to find here. Through my YouTube channel I'll take you to meeting and see crochet from every side. We'll meet the people that make hooks, care for alpacas, run yarn shops, spin yarn, make project bags, design patterns and the list goes on.
OMG!!!! Can you believe it????? The Community Coral Reef Project is right here in the PNW!!!! Woohoo!!!! Wait. What? You don't know about The Community Coral Reef Project??? Well, take a seat and take a little journey with me. The Community Coral Reef Project is spear headed by Christina Harkness at Coral Knit Fiber Arts https://www.coralknitfiberarts.com/community-coral-reef-project. The Salem Millstream Knitting Guild https://salemmillstreamknitting.com/community-fiber-coral-reef/ hosted a presentation by Christina and I got to go. The picture above is just some of what she brought. Ok so here's the low down, the goal is to create a walk through underwater fiber art exhibit. How cool is that???? Here's the best part...you and I can be a part of it!!! Yeah!!! You heard me...we can be a part of it. Ok, here are the rules...it has to be something from under the sea. Yeah, that's it. You can make it out of anything. So you can crochet, knit, weave or felt your way to the underwater world. These types of installations have been done all over the world since 2005. I'm in, are you??? On her website you'll be able to find drop off sites and patterns to get you started. Ok, so for more information visit Christina at https://www.coralknitfiberarts.com/community-coral-reef-project
